  • No payment processing fee on new or updated listings since January 6, 2025.
  • Buyer Protection (3.6%) is paid by the buyer and does not reduce your payout.
  • Cash out: direct deposit is free; Instant Pay costs $3 per transfer.

Worked example

You sell sneakers for $50, buyer pays $8 shipping, your label costs $7 and the item cost $15.

  1. Selling fee: 10% × $58 = $5.80
  2. Total costs: $15 + $7 = $22.00
  3. Net profit: $30.20 (52.07% margin)

FAQ

How much does Mercari take per sale?

For US listings created or updated on or after January 6, 2025, Mercari charges a 10% selling fee on the item price plus any buyer-paid shipping. There is no separate payment processing fee.

Does Mercari charge fees on shipping?

Yes. When the buyer pays shipping, that amount is included in the 10% selling fee base. If you offer free shipping, the label cost comes out of your earnings.

What is Mercari's Buyer Protection fee?

Buyers pay a 3.6% Buyer Protection fee on item price plus buyer-paid shipping. It is charged to the buyer and is not deducted from your payout.

Does Mercari charge to cash out?

Direct deposit is free (a $2 fee applies only to failed deposits). Instant Pay costs $3 per transfer, up to $600 per month.
